GET IN MY CLOSET

So I basically can’t keep up with all the swing dancer-focused shoe companies popping up right now – the latest company to grab my attention is Tranky Shoes, which Jessica Bullock mentioned in response to a shoe question Gaby Cook posted on Facebook.  Their Facbook page is in Italian, Google translate has failed miserably to translate the text, and Facebook translate fared only slightly better, so I’m interested in hearing more about this shoe company.  Here’s what I can surmise from their Facebook page:

  • Based in Italy
  • There are green double strap Mary Janes that need to come home with me (sans the velvet bootie – can that happen?)
  • They are being sold at a bunch of European events
  • Handmade, leather upper, leather soles
  • For more information email trankyshoes@gmail.com

Tell me more, peeps!  Have you tried these shoes?  I want to hear all about them. 🙂

  1. The boyfriend of the lady behind the making of these shoes is in one of the local classes Patrick and I teach in Paris. He brought some shoes back from her workshop in Italy for us to try and I have to say that I was impressed. Really nice quality materials and craftsmanship. Nice cushioning inside of the shoes, nice weight to the shoes, even the men’s (not too heavy) and overall look really good quality.

They come from a family of shoemakers so they really look like they know what they’re doing.

  2. Hi Lindy Shopper, thank you very much for your post!
We are a small shoe factory in centre of Italy; we only use high quality materials with special care for dancers (we add a insole with a new technology that softens the bounce) and most of our production is hand made.
We also customize all the models, so you can choose colors, heel and type of leather.
Our shoe sizes go from 35 to 41 for the high heels, from 34 to 44 for the woman’s flat and from 38 to 48 for the men’s shoes with half numbers in between. So we hope to please everyone!
We will have our e-shop very soon, we are working on it right now, but in the meantime you can order our shoes by email at trankyshoes@gmail.com.
We participate to a lot of vintage fairs and swing festivals and we love it! Our dream is to travel around the world with our shoes.
So for any info or updates you can check us on Facebook or Instagram or you can contact us at our email.
