Do you recognize these shoes?
I took this photograph at the movie theater tonight, from a giant banner for the movie “The Help,” which will be in theaters tomorrow. I am almost 95% certain that these shoes are the white Aris Allen 1940’s peep toe oxfords. Can anyone verify this? I suppose it caught me off-guard – you expect to see, for example, Remix reproduction 1920’s shoes in a 1920’s movie, but not necessarily 1940’s repro shoes in a 1960’s movie. Surprises where you least expect it. π
They do look like it, with swapped out laces! Good eye. They do look like a slightly cuter version of a nurse’s shoe, so I guess that’s good for a maid. But they look too big for the actress – don’t they know that Dancestore has a great exchange policy? π

Maybe they’re too big, or maybe she has wide feet. In any event, the shoes are tied improperly. See how the bows point up and down? They should go across the ankle. http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/slipping.htm
Apparently many people tie their laces wrong and wonder why they come undone their whole lives. π
You are both right, I didn’t notice it before, but she is swimming in those shoes!
I noticed this too! I whispered it to the dancer next to me. Let’s ask the folks at Aris Allen!
Kara at Dancestore.com was able to confirm that the movie did, indeed, order the shoes from them. Go Aris Allens!
Hi guys, my name is Vero of DanceStore.com and I just wanted to confirm that the white mesh oxfords that appeared on “The Help” are definitely from Aris Allen. Thanks for letting us know!
Just wanted to verify, these are the Aris Allen 1940’s peep toe oxfords. Good eye everyone! The information should be up on Aris Allen in the Media page soon… http://www.arisallen.com/aboutus.html
