Yes, I own a lot of shoes, but I rarely pay full price for them. Why? I am patient and if I wait long enough, eBay will deliver what I need at a reasonable price. If you buy cheaper shoes, you can buy more of them, theoretically, or have more money leftover to pay for all these amazing swing dance events coming up in the next few months. Lindy Focus, anyone? 😉

Mod Cloth Sale

Well…everyone is having a sale today, but I’ve been particularly smitten with Mod Cloth‘s recent offerings, especially their holiday dresses. That’s one of the beautiful things about swing dancing, is that there’s always a dance party to attend, with a little sparkle added during the holidays.

1940’s Cherry Red Heels

I’ve got to give props to Bill Speidel, again, for having such excellent taste and for knowing my shoe size. Unfortunately, this lovely pair of 1940’s cherry red heels on Etsy, size 7, are just a bit too narrow – but maybe not for you? They are wider than 3 inches, which is usually indicative of a not-as-narrow size. Aren’t they delicious?

Hot orange peeptoes

Orange is not in my color palette, so I’m not usually drawn to things orange, but there’s something about this pair of shoes that is really attractive and desirable. I love the reptilian texture, the cutouts, the peeptoes, the platforms, and the little flower at the toes. You’ve got to be pretty sassy to wear these shoes – are you up to the challenge? Serious shoes

This pair of Remix “Kate” shoes have serious heels and serious platforms. Size 8, buy on eBay for $99.99 or best offer, or the Remix website for $198. Half price!

This is a serious pair of shoes in a different way…seriously granny with some serious detailing on the sides. They look like they’d be nice and broken in for dancing. Black oxfords, size 8 or 9, $14.99 starting price.

A pair of black and white spat style wingtips, size 9.5, and a pair of white mesh oxfords, size 10. Go!

Remixes in red and brown

When it rains it pours, and it seems that eBay is pouring Remix Vintage Shoes. Today’s searches yielded a red pair of “Claudette” heels, size 7.5, and two pair of “Ginger” heels in sizes 8 and 9.

1940’s green reptile pumps

My heart aches because these are a half size too small for me – this gorgeous pair of 1940’s green reptile pumps are a size 6.5. They are also dead stock, which means these beauties have never been worn. The Buy-It-Now price is $95.00, but I’ll admit, I’d pay it and they’d be worth every cent… 😉

Aris Allen black and silver oxford, size 11

Lindy Shopper Classified Ad – For sale by owner: A pair of lovely Aris Allen black and silver 1930’s style oxford heels, size 11, barely used, $50 or best offer. According to the seller, Julia Seymour, there are “two tiny scratches (from the heels hitting together) on the right shoe and a small indentation on the same shoe. Navy and cream oxford heels, size 5/5.5

These navy and cream oxfords with perforated leather and scallop detailing are delicious! The eBay seller says these are a size 4, but my friend Sharon Ferris with a size 4 foot says the measurements are more in line with a 5 or 5.5.

Granny shoes

The heeled oxford can be an elegant shoe and this collection of “granny shoes” on eBay is a prime example of oxfords done well. Most of these shoes are narrow in width, so check the measurements carefully or pick up a shoe stretcher. There are so many of them, maybe a few of you could go in together on the auction…
