Few things are as understated and refined as a silk knit tie. They don’t scream for attention (especially in solid colors), but they’re appreciated with further inspection. I have a few and would be happy to own more.

  2. Knit ties are a bit more on the casual end, so I’d start by pairing them with solid button-downs (as opposed to dress shirts with traditional or spread collars with no button in the collar) and chinos, nice jeans, and sportcoats or with sportier suits.
